Size
€40,00
Summer truffles (Tuber Aestivum) grow during the summer months and are found in regions of Europe, as parts of North Africa and the Middle East. They have a black exterior with large pyramidal warts, a lightly marbled interior, and a delicate aroma often described as nutty or earthy. Considered a delicacy and used in various culinary dishes, some popular ways to use summer truffles in cooking include shaving them over pasta dishes, incorporating them into omelettes or frittatas, or adding them to sauces or soups for added depth of flavour.
They can also be used to flavour oils or vinegar, which can then be used to enhance the flavour of other dishes.
Summer truffles, also known as "Burgundy truffles", grow in a symbiotic relationship with the roots of various trees, including oak, hazelnut, and poplar.
Harvesting period: 1 June to 31 August
